Drug Testing

Alcohol and drug abuse create significant safety and health hazards and can result in decreased employee productivity. Workplace drug testing can assist you in:

  • Deterring your employees from abusing drugs and alcohol
  • Prevent hiring those using illegal drugs
  • Screening of drugs or alcohol may have contributed to a workplace injury
  • Benefiting from worker’s compensation premium discounts

Screening

HealthWORKS can provide you several options for your drug and alcohol testing program. Screening services are available for:

  • Pre-employment
  • Random
  • Post-accident
  • Reasonable suspicion
  • Follow-up

We have the capability to provide many different test panels via various methods. All of our testing is performed by fully trained, competency tested staff. All results are entered and maintained by HealthWORKS as well as the necessary notification being sent to you as the employer.

TYPES OF TESTING AND TEST PANELS

Urine Testing (all available with confirmation services)

Detection times based on drug class and collected following industry standards. Quick On-Site 5 and 10 panels – non-negative are sent to Alere Toxicology for confirmation.

5 Panel:

1. Amphetamines (meth, speed, crank, ecstasy)
2. THC (cannabinoids, marijuana, hash)
3. Cocaine (coke, crack)
4. Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
5. Phencyclidine (PCP, angel dust)

7 Panel: those above plus barbiturates and benzodiazepines

10 Panel: all of those above plus methadone and propoxyphene

Saliva Testing

Quick test performed on-site and sent to lab.

 

Hair Testing

Requires cutting of a small sample of hair that will detect drug use from days up to 3 months. Does not detect very recent drug use.

 

Breath Alcohol

Breath sampling with an Evidential Breath Tester Instrument. If result is .02 or greater a confirmation test is then conducted 15 minutes later.

 

Consortium Services

Allows you to place your employees into a Random “pool” and names are randomly selected by a computer software program on a quarterly or monthly basis. These services are offered for both your regulated and non-regulated employees.

 

Collection services Only

HealthWORKS will collect a drug screen and forward to lab of your choosing without running, performing, or storing any results.

We offer out of area collection site set-up when using us for your drug testing services.

 

Medical Review Officer Services

A medical physician with specific training in drug toxicology assists in determining if detected substances are legally present.

 

Drug and Alcohol Supervisor Training

Educational sessions given to meet the CFR 49 requirements as well as sessions for non-regulated companies to assist in awareness and process.

 

HealthWORKS can assist you in both regulated and non-regulated testing and can serve as a resource for questions and education relating to drug and alcohol testing.
