“After that event, it totally changed my view," Dr. Karimi said. “With the gift of life that I was given again, I decided to pursue my original passion. I was able to pass those tough times and come out healthy with a healthy and adorable daughter, I wanted to give back.  I wanted to gain the skills to help my community." 

With plans to become an interventional radiologist, a personal experience with a life-threatening childbirth changed the course of career for Laleh Karimi, M.D.

As an obstetrics and gynecology physician, Dr. Karimi cares for women through their pregnancy and beyond, and treats gynecological needs to provide a better quality of life.

“My first principle is seeing my patient as a human," she said. “Not only paying to attention to her illness but what she is going through. I believe in extensive counseling and putting out all the available alternatives in front of her so she can make an informed decision after going through each of them in detail."

Dr. Karimi finds joy in her practice by witnessing women in their journey of life. “I enjoy being able to take care of her gynecology needs, her pregnancy and being there when she is becoming a mother. When I help to resolve a gynecology problem and see her smile after the problem is solved, the amount of joy is priceless," she said.

By listening to your concerns, Dr. Karimi is there for you. She does everything in her power to take care of you because that is the care she received as a patient herself.

Dr. Karimi earned her medical degree from Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, and completed her residency at Henry Ford Hospital at Detroit, Michigan, in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is bilingual, speaking Farsi (Persian) and English.

Outside of work, Dr. Karimi is an excellent cook and master griller. She has a passion for music and cinema. She loves going to concert and traveling. Additionally, she loves fashion and enjoys dressing up for occasions. In the office, her particular style is wearing a black turtle neck and scrub pants without her white coat. She loves coffee and a good joke is always welcome.
