Vita Park Eye Associates is now officially part of Marshfield Clinic Health System. The partnership to have Vita Park Eye Associates join Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam’s (MMC-BD) employed physician group was originally announced in December 2021 and finalized on May 1.

“Vita Park Eye Associates has been the eye care leader in our community for decades, and it’s an honor for us to welcome their providers and staff to the Marshfield team,” said Angelia Foster, MMC-BD Chief Administrative Officer. “They share our vision of keeping quality care close to home, and we are grateful such amazing providers and community leaders have chosen Marshfield.”

Vita Park Eye Associates has served the community since 1949 and features two board-certified ophthalmologists and two optometrists who practice at locations in Beaver Dam and Waupun. Thomas Castillo, D.O., joined the practice in 1998, followed by Jay Wilkins, M.D., in 2004. Charles Hendrix, O.D. joined when he merged his private practice with Vita Park Eye Associates in 2008 and Cory Springstroh, O.D., joined in 2010. All are remaining with the Health System.

Vita Park Eye Associates’ two locations will now be named:

• Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam Beaver Dam Eye Clinic
• Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam Waupun Eye Clinic

“Soon after Marshfield Clinic Health System arrived I became impressed with their values and commitment to the community,” said Dr. Castillo. “They’ve worked really hard to improve health care in our community and to expand access to specialty services. Our priority at Vita Park Eye Associates has always been to provide our patients with the best vision possible, and we know Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam feels the same way about every service they provide to our community.”

Vita Park Eye Associates treats cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, macular degeneration, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, blepharitis and more. The comprehensive eye care center also provides full-service eye exams and has more than 1,000 frames.

“Local health care is important, and we’ve appreciated the leadership of Angelia and Dr. Jamie Deering (MMC-BD Vice President of Medical Affairs),” said Dr. Wilkins. “Watching the number of dedicated specialists they’ve brought to Dodge County has been impressive and is a great service to our region.
