BDCH Offering Summer Volunteer Opportunities to High School Students

High school students 15 years of age as of March 1 will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by volunteering their time at Beaver Dam Community Hospital (BDCH) this summer. The summer student volunteer session lasts 10 weeks, from June 20 through August 26, and requires a 30-hour minimum commitment.
Volunteers with BDCH Hillside Manor (skilled nursing facility), Eagle’s Wings and Remembrance Home (assisted living) will assist residents with projects, activities and special events. This is a great opportunity for students with musical talents and offers a great environment to build friendships and gain experience across generations while making a real difference in people’s lives.
BDCH Kids Care also provides opportunities for students 16 years of age and up by assisting staff in student activities, including day camp programs with children 4 to 9 years, working with children indoors and outdoors and helping on field trips.
The BDCH Rehabilitation Department and Foot Clinic, meanwhile, will provide additional opportunities for assisting staff in a patient setting, while working in the print shop allows students to work on projects in a print shop setting.
To become a volunteer, you first schedule an interview by May 4 by calling 920-887-5988 or emailing At this interview you will discuss volunteer possibilities and complete a criminal background check, health screening and review references. After attending one of two group orientations offered by BDCH, you’re ready to receive your volunteer badge and begin your journey!
