Patient Care Philosophy

“Prevention based. Diet and exercise go a long way when it comes to disease prevention. They are also the best ways to start treating mental health concerns. Being well is so much more than visiting a doctor. Being well encompasses wellness of body and mind.”

“My job as a physician is not to fix you, but to help you fix yourself.”

- Dr. Cristin Newkirk Thompson

Are of Specialty

“Family medicine and sports medicine. That means I get to help everyone, from babies to seniors. Having fellowship trained at the University of Nevada, Reno, and taken care of NCAA Division I athletes. I have experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries in addition to family medicine. I’ve been in solo practice now for three years, fellowship trained for a year, and was in residency for three years.”

Personal Interests

“Being outside. I am an avid runner, and have fallen in love with trail running. I follow the professional runners, and seek out new trails every chance I get. I’m fascinated by the science behind running as well, and how running helps us become better at everything else. I also love cycling. My husband got me into cycling, so it’s something we enjoy together along with our very energetic dog who loves to join us on our journeys.”
