MMC-BD Updates Visitor Restrictions

Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam has announced it is moving to a "limited visitor" policy beginning March 4.

Marshfield Clinic Health System has some locations with limited visitors allowed based on the COVID-19 cases in the area. We will allow a limited number of visitors or care partners at our location. Visitors or care partners are any additional person coming with a patient to a clinic appointment or visiting a patient while in the hospital.

Care partners may be allowed for hospital and clinic patients, as follows:

  • Emergency, Urgent Care, Walk-in departments: Allow patients (both pediatric and adult patients) to be accompanied by one (1) care partner.
  • Hospital adult patients: Allow for one (1) care partner per day (may be different visitors on different dates).
  • OB Labor & Delivery patients: Allow for one (1) care partner per hospital stay.
  • Hospital pediatric and stable NICU patients: Allow for two (2) adult care partners for the duration of the stay (the same two adults may visit during the patient's hospitalization).
  • Adult patients with clinic appointments: Allow one (1) care
  • Pediatric patients with clinic appointments: Allow two (2) adult care
  • Adult patients who are COVID positive or have COVID-like symptoms and test pending: No visitors or care partners allowed, unless unique or extenuating
  • Pediatric patients who are COVID positive or have COVID-like symptoms and test pending: Allow one (1) adult care partner or visitor.

For patients who may be at end of life, the care team will provide guidance related to visitors to support patients and families with the goal of creating an emotional support network, while keeping patients and visitors safe.https://bdch.com/sites/bdch.com/assets/images/news/Visitor-Restriction-graqphic.png

Note: Exceptions are made by leaders with a goal of providing safe care for patients, while balancing emotional and other support needs.

*CBRFs and long-term care facilities continue to observe separate visitor restrictions and should be contacted prior to visiting.
