Birthing Classes
Birthing classes help to prepare for a comfortable and safe childbirth experience. Pre-registration for birthing classes is necessary. We suggest that you choose the "Preparing for Childbirth" class closest to your eighth month of pregnancy.
  
PREPARING FOR CHILDBIRTH
Classes are designed to prepare you and your partner for the birth of your baby. Join our staff, who can teach you the labor and delivery process with a focus on relaxation, breathing and support skills. Use of medication and anesthesia are also discussed. Please bring a pillow and wear comfortable clothing. Be prepared to learn and practice new skills. Includes a tour of the OB unit. 
     

BREAST FEEDING BASICS
“Breast is Best” --- Helpful tips and techniques will be offered to help you get off to a great start. This isn’t a “moms only” class. Partners are encouraged to attend, as feeding is a family experience.
     
AT HOME WITH YOUR NEWBORN
Your new baby will be home with you soon. Are you ready? This class helps prepare for these topics: bathing, cord care, car seat safety, baby comfort, emotional and lifestyle adjustments. This class will also include professional guest speakers, contact the Wellness Department at (920) 887-4191 for further information.
  

PEDIATRIC CPR, INJURY PREVENTION AND HOME SAFETY
The Pediatric Basic Life Support course is designed to teach anyone responsible for the care of children about the hazards to which children may be exposed, how to make an environment safe for children, and basic rescue techniques such as CPR and relief of an obstruction (choking) for infants and children.
     
FATHERHOOD
This series of three classes is for men only. Topics covered include: Father/Mother relationships, Father/Child relationships, and Baby Care basics.
  
SIBLING CLASS
How do you explain to a child a new baby coming into your home? Bring your child to join with other children to have fun and prepare for the arrival of their new brother or sister.
  
BABY’S FIRST MASSAGE
Newborn Massage is a hands-on happy way to become acquainted with your baby. This class is for parents or caregivers and their healthy newborn up through the first ten weeks of life. A 28-page booklet with illustrated massage strokes will be given at the class and is included in the fee. Bring to the class: * a receiving blanket * a thick towel * a diaper bag with extra clothes, diapers, wipes, & formula if needed. Please feed baby just prior to the class. Classes will be held on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. Call (920) 887-4007 for more information or to register for this class.
