Acupressure for Pain Workshop Offered
The community is invited to attend a free workshop on acupressure and acupuncture on Tuesday, July 22, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals, Inc. David Milbradt, certified acupuncturist and herbalist, will lead this workshop on using acupressure to release tension and resolve pain. During the class he will also discuss the benefits and uses of acupuncture. To attend this free workshop, call Jan Ball at 887-4191 between 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday. It’s best to sign up with a buddy, so that you can practice on one another during the class.
Acupuncture is the use of very fine needles inserted into the points on the body. Acupuncture has been found to be very helpful with pain, arthritis, post-operative nausea, stroke rehab, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma (National Institutes of Health consensus statement) as well as many other conditions.
Acupressure is the use of firm, gentle fingertip pressure on specific points of the body. Applying this pressure can help relieve such complaints as headaches, nausea, and stress.
Mr. Milbradt has acupuncture clinic hours on Fridays at Beaver Dam Community Hospital Rehab Department and the other days of the week in his clinic at 119 E. Mackie Street, Beaver Dam.
